Competitions
We always encourage our students to apply for a number of prestigious competitions and awards for student writers working across a variety of media platforms. By taking part in competitions, you will improve your employment prospects, enhance your journalistic skills, and build your self confidence.
Winners of these competitions often benefit from cash prizes and opportunities for publication.
Some of the competitions we promote include the Guardian Student Media Awards, Glimpse Travel Writing Competition, and PTC “Most Promising Student Award”. The latter competition was won by a former Falmouth student Joe Lutrario, and you can read about him here.
We also run exciting competitions within the University: As part of the It’s Nice That masterclass, students put forward ideas for a new magazine in order to win £500 to see it published.
If you want any further information on the competitions, email julia.kennedy@falmouth.ac.uk or Bill on william.barclay@falmouth.ac.uk.
